An Interior Design for a Pediatric Dental Office

Going to the dentist can be stressful especially for children. One way to make the dental office appear more comfortable is to have an interior designer decorate it to fit the needs of the children that will be coming into the office. Unfortunately most of the dental offices out there are designed for the equipment that needs to be used and for functionality instead of for the patients. ImageDr. Maryam Mohammadi is a pediatric dentist in McLean, Virginia. She chose to hire an interior designer to do her 1,300 square foot dental office. From the moment patients and their parents walk into the office they immediately find a very comfortable and inviting waiting area. This really helps to alleviate worries that are commonly associated with a visit to the dentist.

This is no traditional style of waiting room for a pediatric dental office by any means. Adults can relax with a cup of coffee or tea. Teenagers can use the computers to surf the internet while they wait for their appointment. For those who enjoy watching TV they will love the comfortable couch and the 50” plasma TV. There is also a playroom full of toys, books, and tables and chairs for the younger children to enjoy.

The colors for the dental office were carefully picked to give the entire waiting area and rooms where dental procedures are performed a very upbeat and fun atmosphere. Children of all ages look forward to going to Dr. Mohammadi’s dental office because they feel safe there. It is definitely a much more relaxed and happy environment than most other dental offices.

Children who have good experiences when they visit the dentist experience less anxiety as their next appointment approaches. This can lead to a life long habit of getting regular dental checks ups and care as needed. Parents love that their children are very willing to go to her dental office without a fight.
